Brief History of the Bed and Breakfast

The Thomas H. Russell House was built in 1882 by one of six Russell Brothers who came to Massillon in the mid 1800šs and later formed the Russell Steam Engine Company. The Russell Company manufactured steam-powered threshers, steam powered tractors and other farm machinery.

While still under restoration, the house consists of twenty-one rooms, each to be carefully restored to their original grandeur. There are four guestrooms. Decorated with period furniture, layers of exquisite fabrics, and onyx fireplaces, each room adheres to the motif of the period.

The grounds of the Russell House also include a three-story carriage house, which still retains the original horse stables in the lower area. The second floor has been also turned into a guest suite.

The rear courtyard will be a place for meditation and reflection with its fountains, water pond, and many lush gardens. A great place to listen to the sounds of nature or simply relax with a good book.  <Read More>
